Blast attacks have almost as much normal damage as storm attacks but don't score criticals often and are easy to deflect. Even though they don't score criticals often, under the right conditions, can deal over 210 damage, with a high of 221!

Blast attacks are useful to score powerful elemental overwhelms against your opponent, and they are easier in terms of energy to use. The downside is that blast attacks are predictable and easy to deflect.They are very useful at the end of battles where they are harder to deflect.
